How it works

From registration to your first local order

  1. 1

    Register your shop

Create the owner account and reserve your shop address.

  2. 2

    Set up the essentials

Add your opening hours, best sellers, fulfilment choices, and shop-owned payment route.

  3. 3

    Complete the readiness review

We check your settings, payment route, and storefront before approving it to go live.

  4. 4

    Welcome local customers

Once approved and enabled, shoppers can find and order from you.

Fulfilment

Collection-only is fine

Start with customer collection and add local delivery when your shop is ready.

Local rider network

Local delivery, with riders you choose

Get access to approved local riders available through the platform. You decide which riders can collect from your shop, and you can remove access whenever needed. Riders remain free to accept or reject each job.

Your catalogue

Start with your best sellers

You do not need your whole shop online on day one. Begin with 20 to 50 popular products, then expand using Quick Entry, photo drafts, and catalogue editing.

Simple public-beta pricing

No order, no Basildon Delivery fee.

No setup fee during public beta. Shoppers pay the £0.50 Basildon Delivery fee and any delivery or rider charge with their order. These amounts are included in the payment your shop receives and are then paid to Basildon Delivery. Your shop keeps its product revenue.

We ask shops to settle their Basildon Delivery balance nightly where possible. Each charge has an exact deadline no later than 72 hours after it is created.

Your payment provider may charge transaction fees on the shopper's payment.

Your payments

Take online payments with Worldpay or Mollie

Connect your shop's own Worldpay or Mollie account and let customers pay through a secure hosted checkout. Your payment provider processes the shopper's payment and pays your shop, while Basildon Delivery manages the order and delivery journey.

Worldpay

Use Worldpay Hosted Payment Pages to give customers a familiar, secure card checkout linked to your shop's own Worldpay account.

Mollie

Connect Mollie Checkout for a straightforward hosted payment experience, with payments received directly into your shop's Mollie account.

Your provider, your payments

Basildon Delivery does not process or hold the shopper's checkout payment. Your provider handles it securely and pays your shop; your shop then pays the platform and rider amounts included in that payment to Basildon Delivery.

Shop FAQ

Questions before you register

Do I need a particular payment provider?

Basildon Delivery currently supports Worldpay and Mollie. If you already use one of them, you can connect your existing account.

Can I offer collection only?

Yes. Collection-only is fine, and delivery can be added later.

Can I start with a small catalogue?

Yes. Start with 20 to 50 best sellers and expand over time.

Who handles refunds?

The shop remains responsible for its customer payment and refund route, with platform tools and guidance where supported.

Who handles customer support?

The shop handles product and order questions. Basildon Delivery provides platform support and keeps support history separate.

How much does it cost?

There is no setup fee during public beta. The shopper pays the £0.50 per-order Basildon Delivery fee and any delivery or rider charge with their order. These amounts are included in the payment your shop receives, and your shop then pays them to Basildon Delivery. Your payment provider may also charge transaction fees.

When do I pay Basildon Delivery?

We ask shops to settle nightly where possible. Each new charge must be paid no later than 72 hours after it is created; your Money page shows the live balance and exact deadlines.

Does a late shop payment delay the rider?

No. Eligible Monday-to-Sunday rider earnings are grouped for bank-transfer initiation the following Thursday. Your shop balance remains due separately.

Can I pause ordering?

Yes. Approved shops can pause ordering without deleting their catalogue.

When does my shop go live?
